Wheatley and the Change Vote

Here we go. Andrew will call it soon. He is dressing up at Belmont Road in time to "smile for the camera"
Caribbean countries have been tied together politically since slave times. Old political heads in one country, will look at recent elections in other countries to take the temperature for the "change vote" in their own elections. The Barbados vote shows that the change vote is near the top of the cycle in the region.
After being out of power so long the JLP is still the change vote in Jamaica. So it can only lose strength from here. Andrew saw what happened to Portia twice when she waited too long.
He knows the honeymoon cant last forever. 5 in 4 has failed. He is looking for easy wins in corruption so he can go to the polls and lock in another 5 years. Don't be surprised if somebody big goes to jail soon as well.
Andrew does not believe the idle talk that Peter and the PNP are weak. Look how easy it was for Julian to shout Wheatley's name up the hill and wait for his head to roll down at their feet. His neck is still in one piece, but he can hear Andrew sharpening the axe.
Don't get me wrong, the PNP is probably surprised at this easy "victory" as well given their recent failures.
After the corruption push from Andrew, listen for the political drums to start beating out on the ground soon after that. They will call it within a year.

The English speaking Caribbean is very similar culturally and politically among its member states. So when the old "politicos" see a country throw out one entire side of parliament (and the incumbents at that) they start looking around to see which country is next. The current opposition in Jamaica has formed government for so many years over the last generation that the JLP is still basically the opposition here. Notice how Andrew painted them as such in his recent speech, talking about their 22 years in power. Corruption and Growth

5 in 4 is dead. Crime and corrupyion robbing 'Prince Anju' of 3% to 5% growth every year. He knows he can't afford to lose that much longer if he wants another term. Somebody is going to jail. But who? Imagine the shock when they go to Anju to ask for protection and realize he will choose a second term over them in one second flat. Chinese Infrastructure Funding

We don't have any talk in that particular deal. The Chinese put up over $700 million in hard currency and we gave them less than $50 mil worth of land. The question is not this deal. The question is when they come to collect for all that they have given us, what will the price be? These are eastern cultures you're dealing with, they are very patient and think long term.
